Skins allow you to change the apperance of your Minecraft character so that you do not always look like the default character. When you upload a skin you will look different in both singleplayer and multiplayer modes. If you want to add a skin to your Minecraft player you should search one up on google and then click the change button to upload it to minecraft.net.
This is a picture example of the original skin you have when you join Minecraft. When you first join, you will look like this until you decide to download a new skin to change that one. The default skin is easy to get back once you change your skin. To get the default skin back you must go to your Minecraft profile and click the download refrence skin button.
This is a picture of a program called skincraft. Skincraft allows you to make and upload your own Minecraft skins, in case you want to make one to see how good you are at it without downloading. Once you have installed your skin it should appear on your Minecraft character in both singleplayer and multiplayer game modes.
